Edwin Amonoo & Hermi Lokko

Hi Currier!

We are very thrilled to be resident tutors in C-haus this year!

Hermi is currently a Clinical Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She grew up in the coastal areas of Accra, Ghana and miraculously moved to Indianapolis for college at Purdue University where she studied Biology and Chemistry. Some of her favorite pastimes in undergrad were TAing freshman bio courses, singing in the University Chorus, playing ultimate Frisbee and tennis and working with middle school girls in her church. She moved to Boston in 2007 to complete her MD at Harvard Medical School, MPP at Harvard Kennedy School of Government and residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital. She is passionate about psychosocial oncology and palliative care, medical education and global mental health policy.

Edwin is a consultant who works with investors to understand and control the risk in their investment portfolios. His early years in Cape Coast, Ghana were marked by endless games of soccer on blistering hot laterite, cycling races through winding paths or fishing with his pals on the rare quiet day. He was blessed with a scholarship to attend Bates College where he majored in Economics. Bates left him with fond memories of APDA debate tournaments, running around campus in his EMS gear or hosting ice-cream socials for students in his house as a resident advisor. After a couple of years of economics and energy consulting, he went to Princeton for a master’s degree in Finance and then to New York City to work in the Financial Services Industry. Edwin would love to share his experiences with Currierites who are curious about finance and entrepreneurship. He is interested in history and is always looking to analyze current events through the lens of time.

We really love traveling and are always looking for excuses to go on road trips locally and abroad. We like trying new cuisines so let’s swap recommendations for new restaurants! In our books, few things can surpass a scrumptious brunch on Sundays after church.

Watch out for our frequent study breaks so you can sample or indulge in Hermi’s tasty treats! If you ever want someone to talk to about ANYTHING or any of our interests please feel free to e-mail or catch us in the dining hall or stop by our room. We look forward to meeting and getting to know ALL of you this year!
